Physics, Inertia and Everyday life

Hallo and welcome back!

Have I taken a moment to appreciate you for supporting this blog? I don’t think I have.

You know, blogging takes a lot of discipline and it is rather demoralizing to keep blogging when there’s nobody who reads the content. I would just like to thank YOU for reading all the posts I make every Wednesday. It really means a lot!

Now, let’s dive into today’s topic.

Back then, I used to love physics. Physics was such a beautiful subject which would bring out the amazing stories and concepts behind how everyday life works. I viewed physics as a beautiful amalgamation of philosophy and mathematics.

I stopped seeing it that way when we got to this point

Inertia and physics

So, there’s this beautiful concept called inertia.

Inertia is what makes it hard for a moving body to stop, and what makes it difficult to make a body at rest to get into motion.

One of the many reasons that I initially loved physics is that it had concepts that can even be applied in real life. Inertia is one of those concepts.

In life, we have several things that we do that we don’t really need to be doing. We continue doing them because of inertia – it’s hard to get rid of these unnecessary habits.

I came to see this after listening to an episode from the podcast, My First Million by Shaan Puri and Sam Parr. They asked this question:

Would you do what you’re doing if you had money and the opportunity to start afresh?

This question immediately activated my inner Socrates. It made me realize that this question does not apply only to your current vision, mission, goals and tasks. It also applies to the current habits, behavior and character that you have.

It is so easy to get distracted by the daily firefighting that we are forced to do. This daily firefighting results in some habits that appear to be normal, but don’t actually serve you in the long run. Some seemingly normal habits may be the very reason why you are failing to find growth in the current season that you are in.

Now, I understand. There’s a thing called money and we kinda need it if we don’t want to starve to death. Just because we need to engage ourselves in money generating activities doesn’t mean that we can just say “I NEED TO MAKE MONEY SO IT’S NOT MY FAULT!”

After all, the grand plan is to break down your current goals into really tiny steps. You will need to spend the money you make on those tiny steps. If you let inertia take the lead, you may find yourself doing stuff that lost relevance to you ages ago.

My concluding question to you is:

Are you doing what you really what to do or is it inertia?

That’s all folks ! see you next week Wednesday!!!

Psst! Yes, I’m talking to YOU!

Still here? Well, go through my other articles and have fun.
